The Integrated Education Fund welcomes the Education Minister’s announcement of the recruitment process for the Chair of the Independent Review of Education.
We believe this independent review presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring change to our broken, anachronistic system, our children, parents and teachers deserve it.
The next crucially important step in this process of change has to be the appointment of an independent Chair.
Education in Northern Ireland has so many opposing and sectional interests at play that a truly independent chair is needed to both provide confidence in the process and ensure those sectional interests do not override common sense conclusions about ending the abnormal system of segregation.
The IEF Position Paper on the Independent Review of Education can be downloaded here.
Further information about the recruitment process for the Chair of the Independent Review of Education, including Candidate Information Booklet and Application Form, can be found on the Department of Education website here.
