Integrated schools and supporters of integrated education are urged to have their say on a new funding programme which seeks to support peacebuilding work in NI and the border counties of Ireland.
The SEUPB are seeking your view on the draft content of the European Union funded PEACE PLUS Programme (2021-2027), worth approximately €1bn. It has been designed following a comprehensive cross border stakeholder engagement process, early last year that included 16 different consultation events, with over 1,000 people in attendance. Over 300 survey responses were submitted. A full report of the survey’s findings can be found here.
The purpose of this public consultation is to provide citizens, and other key stakeholders, with an opportunity to share their views on the content and administrative arrangements of the PEACE PLUS Programme, findings from the Equality Screening exercise and the Strategic Environmental Assessment.
The Fund feels that it is an important opportunity to highlight the role of integrated education in working towards the programme’s declared aim of contributing to “a more prosperous and stable society” and to promote the model for successful cross-community work provided by integrated schools.
The IEF and the NI Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) will be working to submit responses to the consultation. The closing date is 12 May 2021.
The PEACE PLUS Consultation Information Document, which gives full details of the draft content of the new programme is available below. Please read this document before completing the survey.
