Integrated Education Bill progresses at Stormont

We would like to bring to your attention the incoming second reading of the Integrated Education Bill in Stormont.

Kellie Armstrong is an Alliance Party MLA and has drafted a Private Member’s Bill to go to the Assembly. The Integrated Education Bill’s main aim is to reduce the barriers to Integrated Education, placing a statutory duty on the Department of Education to ‘promote’ in addition to “encourage & facilitate”, as well as future proofing the provision of Integrated Education and providing support to governors, staff and parents.

It has reached the second stage of the legislative process, with the debate still to be scheduled.
