The Integrated Education Fund (IEF) has appointed a new Chief Executive to replace Tina Merron who is retiring after 25 years’ dedicated service to the organisation
The new Chief Executive will be Paul Caskey OBE, well-known advocate for Integrated Education and currently the Fund’s Head of Campaign.
Chief Executive Designate, Paul Caskey OBE, said:
‘I am absolutely delighted to have earned the trust and confidence of the IEF Board to take the organisation forward in what is an exciting time for Integrated Education. Having dedicated almost 24 years of my career to helping Integrated Education grow and develop, I am very aware of barriers and obstacles facing its work but also the many opportunities. The Fund is entirely dependent on its supporters and donors for its very existence, and it has been a pleasure to lead that campaign and in doing so work with so many committed people.
Demand for Integrated Education from parents and schools has never been as high as it is today and I look forward to supporting the IEF’s Board, staff and volunteers as we seek to turn people’s aspiration for greater integration into reality. Tina Merron led the organisation with distinction and I have had the privilege of working alongside her for many years, an experience which I hope will stand me in good stead in taking the organisation forward.’
Integrated Education Fund Chair, Peter Osborne, said:
‘Everyone is sorry to see Tina leave and we will mark that at a later date recognising her incredible contribution to the Fund and Integrated Education more generally.
However, we are delighted that Paul Caskey will be the new Chief Executive. Paul is committed to the further growth of the numbers of young people learning and developing in the same classroom and has constantly demonstrated the skills, knowledge, and hard work that will ensure the Fund goes from strength to strength.
There are serious and significant challenges ahead for education and for Integrated education. As Chief Executive, Paul will be an incredible asset for the Fund as it encourages the growth of Integrated Education; and as the Fund further supports parents and students, governors and all associated with Integrated Education in making the difference to this society that it does.’
Paul Caskey OBE will officially take up the post from 1 July 2024.
