The Integrated Education Fund would like to invite tenders for the carrying out of research which will explore the challenges and obstacles facing Integrated Education but also highlight potential opportunities and present recommendations.
The deadline for the submission of Tenders is 4pm on Monday 14 September 2026.
The purpose of the project is to identify, analyse and discuss challenges and obstacles as well as opportunities regarding the development and growth of Integrated Education in line with parental demand, both current and potential future ones. The research will also present recommendations regarding potential short, medium and long-term action and considerations required to maximise the growth and development of Integrated Education.
It is anticipated that the project will include exploration of aspects such as potential institutional and political resistance and support, educational structures, area planning and cross-sector solutions,
academic selection, measuring and meeting demand (Integrated Education Act 2022), financial constraints, curriculum and misconceptions about Integrated Education.
The objective of this research Project is to:
• Complete desk research on potential challenges, obstacles and opportunities regarding the development and growth of Integrated Education in Northern Ireland.
• Carry out qualitative and quantitative research appropriate to identifying potential challenges, obstacles and opportunities regarding the development and growth of Integrated Education in Northern Ireland.
• Discuss and provide in-depth analysis of the identified challenges, obstacles and opportunities.
• Make recommendations regarding potential actions and considerations likely to maximise the growth and development of Integrated Education in the short, medium and longer-term.
• Complete an Interim report and present provisional findings to research steering group.
• Complete a Final report, including an Executive Summary, outlining the research process, methodology, findings, conclusions and recommendations.
• Provide one presentation of the Final report to the research steering group and other relevant stakeholders.
• Provide one presentation of the Final report at a public event for key stakeholders.
