Peter Weir officially opens new 3G pitch at Integrated College Dungannon

Education Minister, Peter Weir, has officially opened a new 3G pitch at Integrated College Dungannon during a visit to the area.

The 3G pitch was provided through the School Enhancement Programme and is part of an overall investment of approximately £3.5million.  When complete, the project will also deliver a new two-storey sports hall including a fitness room and drama/dance studio. (more…)

International support for Cranmore IPS leads to a new nursery unit

Congratulations to Cranmore IPS preschool which has been granted statutory nursery status from next September!

The pre-school was opened in 2003 to offer integrated provision to younger children.   In 2015 with generous help from integrated education supporter Kevin Curley, the American Ireland Fund and the IEF, Cranmore IPS was able to open new purpose-built pre-school accommodation, designed to meet the Department of Education’s requirement for nurseries. Living prizes get primary schools planting at Allianz Scarecrow Awards

This year’s prize ceremony for the Allianz scarecrow contest saw integrated primary school pupils getting their hands dirty at the agricultural college in Antrim. Representatives of the classes which had won prizes at the annual Garden Show Ireland earlier this year travelled to the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) Greenmount Campus on Friday (2 December). They  were awarded saplings to take back to school.  Colourful creations from the children formed “Scarecrow Wood” at Antrim Castle Gardens in May.    The competition, for integrated primary schools all over Northern Ireland, is sponsored by Allianz and co-ordinated by the Integrated Education Fund (IEF).
