Lincoln Awards

The Lincoln Awards is a special bursary programme available to students attending Integrated Colleges in Northern Ireland.

The Awards are designed to support Integrated College students who have been accepted for a University or Higher Education place in 2025/26.  It offers support for a student who is experiencing a particular disadvantage or financial hardship.  Each award will be for £1,000.  The IEF expects each school to honour the spirit of these awards.

The Awards are generously sponsored by Geraldine Hughes and Conor Allen and administered by the Integrated Education Fund. Additional support has been provided through the Irish American Partnership. 

Application Process

Each College will be asked to nominate ONE suitable candidate who meets the criteria above for the Awards.

The candidates will be required to record a two-minute video presentation which should include the following information:

• Who they are and what school they attend.
• What subjects they are studying and their hopes/ambitions for the future.
• What particular disadvantage or financial hardship they have encountered.
• How receiving a Lincoln Award would benefit their plans for University or Higher Education.

Please be assured that these video presentations will only be shared with the donors. They will never be shared with any other party outside of the IEF or shared publicly.

Filming Tips  

• Film horizontally, not vertically. 
• Video should just be head and shoulders. 
• Choose a calm, quiet place to record your message.
• Consider your lighting: have a good lighting source in front of you, and avoid filming with a large, bright window behind you.  
• We encourage you to rehearse your message a few times before recording it – you’ll be happier with the result. 
• The video should be no more than approximately two minutes in length. 

The videos should be uploaded to wetransfer.com and forwarded to molly@ief.org.uk by no later than 5pm on Thursday 19 June 2025.
