Integration Works Conference

Integration Works Conference 2023

March 22, 2023

Events

The Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) and the Integrated Education Fund (IEF) would like to invite principals, teaching staff and governors to the annual ‘Integration Works’ information event for those who wish to find out more about becoming an Integrated school through the process of Transformation on Wednesday 22 March W5 L.I.F.E.

There have been many exciting developments within Integrated Education over the past year, including a continued upsurge of schools exploring Transformation and the Integrated Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2022 coming into effect.

Integrated Education aims to increase pupil diversity within a single school setting, and to reflect that diversity within the ethos, policies, staffing and governance of the school. The feedback from schools that have explored Transformation in recent years is that it also offers them a chance to “future-proof” their school for the years ahead.

The event will include input from principals of Integrated schools, as well as those that are going through the Transformation process. There will also be plenty of opportunity to have your questions answered by NICIE, the IEF and the Education Authority Sectoral Support Team. We can also provide follow up support to discuss your local school context. Most of the schools that have held parental ballots, or that are currently exploring Transformation, have attended one of our ‘Integration Works’ events in the past and found it to be a useful tool in exploring if Transformation to Integrated status is suitable for their context.

Financial support for sub cover will be provided to enable staff to attend the event at a fixed rate of £165 per teacher which can be claimed via a form.

We will also be holding another event specifically for Governors on 30 Mar 2023 (7:30pm – 9:00pm) on Zoom and this will provide a great opportunity for Governors to hear more about the Transformation process.

If you have any questions about either event, please contact Jill Caskey at the IEF by emailing Jill@ief.org.uk or calling 028 9069 4099.

Places at both events are free but we recommend you register early by emailing Jill@ief.org.uk or using the link below.
